The Alpha 99 was the sucessor of the 2008 model Alpha a900, Sony PH launched Alpha 99 on October 11, 2012, in Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City. The new addition to its list of digital camera marks Sony’s re-entry in the world of DSLRs for the professional shutters. Launching it in Tagaytay makes a nice venue for the product launch since we got to try it in different photography subjects.
The buttons and menu navigation of the Sony Alpha A99 is similar to Nikon’s, so if you are a Canon user, it might take you a little while to familiarize yourself with this camera.
It is also worth mentioning that Sony Apha A99 uses a standar hot shoe for the speed lights, that means any third party flash can be used.
Sony has also wide range of accessories which are not cheap after all, their 300mm prime less cost P400k. But for those looking for extra back up battery for long shoots, the battery grip of Sony Alpha A99 is a something to look forward to, the usual external battery grip for DSLRs packs two batteries only, but for Sonly Alpha A99 battery grip, you get a total of three batteries!
